Prescription Medication Disclosure

Oxy GoM has contracted Safety Management Systems (SMS) paramedics to screen passengers traveling through our heliports for Authorized Prescription Medications. Under this new requirement all Gulf of Mexico contractors traveling offshore must report medications to SMS Case Management. This new requirement will not replace any current OXY Drug & Alcohol requirements with TPS Alert. This new process will enhance OXY’s current Drug & Alcohol program. This Oxy and SMS Authorized Drug Disclosure Workflow does not supplant or eliminate any obligations or requirements imposed under the Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, but instead simply establishes the procedure by which contractors can disclose Authorized Drugs and by which Oxy will assess their safety for use offshore. Behavior Based Safety

The Observation Guidance is a proactive measure to focus on workplace behaviors and conditions. The Guidance is to engage our workforce to actively identify workplace behaviors that are both At-Risk and Safe and conditions that are At-Risk. All Oxy contractors are strongly encouraged to participate in the Observation process.

Stop Work Authority

All OXY contractors have stop work authority. Stop work authority shall be exercised whenever a person identifies an actual or perceived unsafe or potentially damaging condition, act, error, omission or lack of understanding that could result in an undesirable event.
